Details
Product Introduction
Chlorinated rubber is a chlorinated polymer obtained by the reaction of natural rubber and chlorine. The industrial product is a white or light yellow powder, non-toxic and odorless, with a chlorine content of 63-65% and an average relative molecular weight of 5000-10000. It is easily soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, ethers, esters, petroleum solvents, and ketones (except acetone), and can be miscible with various synthetic resins such as alkyd resins, epoxy resins, phenolic resins, and polyurethanes, but is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, and water. Due to the cyclic structure and high chlorine content in the C-C main chain of chlorinated rubber, it exhibits many excellent application properties.
1. The molecular chain structure is saturated and does not contain reactive groups such as double bonds, making it chemically stable and highly resistant to corrosion including acids, alkyl, salts, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and sulfur dioxide (SO2)
2. The Cl- group has antifungal and flame-retardant properties, therefore the products possess antifungal and flame-retardant characteristics.
3. The C-Cl bond has strong polarity, which is why it has good adhesion on various materials such as steel, aluminum alloys, cement, and wood.
4. It has a C-C backbone and is a rubber-modified product, therefore it is compatible with natural rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubber, and other types of rubber.
5. It has a cyclic structure, which enhances the product's adhesion, flame retardancy, oil resistance, and elastic modulus.
6. It undergoes slight decomposition at temperatures above 125°C, and does not soften or burn at temperatures above 200°C, with good heat resistance.
